session watch time is the amount of time someone spends on youtube in one session
long story short, youtube’s main priority is keeping the user on the platform for as long as possible due to obvious reason
how to increase this metric?
simple… you need to create a series of videos that can be watched in a sequence, at the end of each video you need to spark interest in the following video & make sure it’s the video that pops up in the up next box.
ever wondered why those free course on YT get so many views? there are many reasons, but session watch time is definitely a key component here.
